Project 3: Extended New Media Project 20%

Due: Tuesday, December 1, 2011

On Tuesday, December 1, 2011 you will turn in a well designed website. The site may not be fully functional but it should have a clean design. It must be built in php with proper implementtion of Flash, as discussed in class. It should include all the elements that would be expected of the site to appear professional and fully functional.

The site should be designed in relation to the video content that you will be featuring on it. If the video content is cheery, or dark, or playful, etc., the site needs to show this. This project is designed to prepare you for your final. What you design for this assignment is to be reused as the design for your final website.

You must focus on the actual design of your site, and must make the most of CSS. Presenting a site explaining how you would like it to look will not be acceptable. You should think of your site as a prototype: a beta site. To accomplish this, study the code behind the webistes that you find interesting and that you would even like to imitate. Your site must look unique, and must not be simply a modification of a pre-existing template.

You must also include (within the site) at least ten online resources or websites that you have studied. You can include them as a special page titled "References."

You will be graded on how well you implement code, and how well you design your interface for easy navigation.
